The requirements for being listed on Alternative Electronics are that a band or music project must fall into at least one or more of the genres covered by the site and that the band is of interest to the Alternative Electronics community. General guidelines for meeting the second condition are outlined by the Wikipedia requirements for notability. A general rule of thumb is that any band with a Last.fm listener count of at least 500 users qualifies for inclusion on the site. Bands may also be included for various other reasons, including (but not limited to) having played at a major festival or event, being signed to a relevant record label or having a band member who is also a member of another band that qualifies to be listed.
