User registrations and submissions are now open to all site visitors. Register an account by clicking here or using the login module at the lower right of the website and click on the Contribute tab to find out more.

 

Also, in addition to profiles on Last.fm and MySpace, Alternative Electronics can now be found on Facebook and Twitter.

Site Updates (August 20, 2010)

Many of you may have noticed a number of minor site updates recently. Besides now being able to view charts from previous months, IDM charts are now online as well. The labels section has also been expanded extensively. The beta version of the user submission system is set to go online this month too, so check back sometime next week and hopefully you will be able to submit new bands and gear to the database.

Tag Clouds Added (January 29, 2010)

Tag clouds have been added to the gear pages of equipment used by five or more bands. The tags are generated based on the genres of the bands using each piece of gear.

New Article (January 17, 2010)

Some of you may have already noticed that there is a new article up detailing the five most-used pieces of analog music equipment in the Alternative Electronics database.

 

Also the gear listed on band pages is now organized by gear type; hopefully this makes it somewhat easier to browse through a band's gear, especially those who use a ton of equipment (ie. Depeche Mode, Nine Inch Nails, Neuroactive, Covenant, Autechre, cEvin Key, Velvet Acid Christ, to name a few).
